We had beautiful weather for Mother's Day. We decided it was the perfect day to walk around Deanna Rose Farm - a local petting zoo that's gotten increasingly more awesome over the last 10 years. It's completely free to the public and they have beautiful walking trails and gardens that lead you past barns and ponds and fields full of farm animals. Goats, bunnies, cows, lambs, bobcats (not for petting), eagles, peacocks, turtles, goldfish, and buffalo.
The highlight was the fishing pond. Shannon's kids each got a bucket of worms and a pole and Emily caught a fish the second her pole hit the water. Grant waited patiently for his chance and found himself grinning ear-to-ear as his little bobber ducked under the water. We all cheered from the comfort of our swing as he showed us the catch of the day. So exciting. Shannon captured some priceless moments. (her pictures, below)
